Welcome to the website for St. Thomas' Parish Church Longford, Coventry.  St.Thomas' is a 'Forward in Faith' parish within the Church of England, under the pastoral and sacramental care of the Bishop of Ebbsfleet.

Whether you have stumbled across us by accident or are here because you need to be, thank you for taking the time to visit us.  We hope you will find what you are looking for. St. Thomas' sees itself primarily as a parish church, serving the needs of the people of the area and speaking with and for them.  We are heavily committed to a programme of pastoral and social work, and the particular initiatives which exist within the parish are witness to our desire to meet the needs of the whole community not only in spiritual  terms, but also in terms of social welfare for both older, younger, and also other vulnerable members of the community.

We aim to provide a voice for the community by being fully involved in its activities.  We want St. Thomas' Parish Church Longford to be a place where everyone is welcomed, respected, valued and loved, where the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is proclaimed not just in words but in how we live our daily lives.  We want to grow in confidence in the way we worship God, and how we understand and share our faith.  We rejoice in all that is presently good, positive and worthwhile, yet we recognise the need to explore new ways of being church and expressing afresh the love of God for his people.

We are keen to build on the growth and joy, the innovation and creativity, that has become the feature of our worship and life together over the last few years.  Whilst many churches have had difficulty in attracting teenagers and younger families to their worshiping communities over the last few years, here at St. Thomas' our unique style of worship, a blend of contemporary and conventional music streamed through our high quality audiovisual facilities have been successful in achieving this.  Our aim is to show others that whilst we may be traditional in our faith, the way we proclaim and share that same faith is far from traditional.

Our recent refurbishment has made the church more attractive, comfortable and welcoming.  We are anxious to ensure that these radical changes to the church building are now used to further our evangelistic work in the area, by ensuring all our buildings are put to the best possible use in the service of God and the local community.
